Eastern Kentucky University has entered into a second of five consecutive agreements with Conn-Selmer for new methods classes and marching battery instruments.  Recognizing the value of the program for the entire music department, EKU will continue to enjoy the economic and musical benefits throughout the ten year program. 
      
"We are so pleased with the Conn-Selmer experience, especially with the hands-on, first class relationship, and their wonderful instruments”, says Rob James, Chairman of the Department of Music. “The Department of Music has observed a higher level of excellence in our major performing ensembles and method classes since specifically using Conn-Selmer products in all of our musical and teaching endeavors”. The university originally made selections from Conn-Selmer’s entire line of instruments including Bach Stradivarius trumpets and trombones, Selmer saxophones, Leblanc clarinets and Ludwig professional percussion instruments.  The school also received new method class instruments so that music education students can learn on the latest and best student instruments available. This partnership fulfilled the needs of the university and made an immediate and lasting impact on the quality of the educational experience at Eastern.
      
The Conn-Selmer School Partnership supports the short and long term growth of music performance and education programs by recognizing a high level of academic and musical excellence at qualified educational institutions such as Eastern Kentucky. This program increases the institution’s national/international profile as a music school allowing it to recruit more high-quality students, and secure a long-term position as a leader in music and music education.
