Sok Wah Joins Artists Endorsing Conn-Selmer Instruments

Conn-Selmer, Inc is pleased to announce that soloist Sok Wah is a new addition to its Artist Endorsement Roster for Ludwig/Musser. Hundreds of professional musicians and instructors endorse instruments from Conn-Selmer, including instruments by Bach, Selmer, C.G. Conn, King, Leblanc, Ludwig/Musser, and others.

A recipient of the National Arts Council Bursary , Sok Wah graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, University of Sydney in 2002 with a Bachelor of Music Studies. She studied under Richard Miller, timpanist of Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Daryl Pratt (head of department), a well-known jazz vibraphonist to receive an all-rounded education in classical and contemporary percussion. She also received valuable coaching form visiting artists such as Neil Grover (Boston Pop, Boston Symphony), Arthur Lipner (U.S. Jazz Vibraphonists), and Leigh Howard Stevens (International Marimba Artist). Her early mentors and people who have given her invaluable music exposure include prominent percussionists from Singapore, Mr Ngoh Kheng Seng (Singapore Chinese Orchestra), Mr Lim Meng Keh (Singapore Symphony Orchestra), Mr Markiewicz Grzegorz (Singapore Symphony Orchestra), Mr Quek Ling Kiong (Singapore Chinese Orchestra) and Mr Tama Goh.

Dedication to the art of percussion has given her the opportunities to perform a wide genre of music not only in both local and international stages, but in the recording studios too. Believing in creating awareness in the art of percussion and nurturing young talents, Sok Wah currently teaches percussion and gives percussion master classes in many local schools and tertiary institutions.

“Sok Wah is now one of an elite group of endorsers for Ludwig/Musser, and we are proud to have her as part of our family”, says Rebecca Weissman, artist relations coordinator at Conn-Selmer. “Endorsing artists are an integral, valuable part of our company and we appreciate their efforts in promoting music education around the world on our behalf”.
