Chris Bullock is a Brooklyn, NY based saxophonist, woodwind player, and educator. His musical diversity allows him to perform in a vast array of musical environments. A majority of his time is spent performing, touring, and recording as the saxophonist with the acclaimed genre-bending ensemble, Snarky Puppy. With this band, he has garnered critical acclaim and respect as a forward thinking musician. He can also be found playing and recording Brazilian/French pop music with Banda Magda, working with a variety of gospel artists and indie rock bands, occasionally playing classical music, or performing his original compositions and arrangements with his own jazz group. He has performed at major festivals around the world including the New Orleans Jazz Fest, Toronto Jazz Festival, Ottawa Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, Jazz a Vienne, Montreaux, Bear Creek Music Fest, and Wakarusa. Some of the artists that Chris has worked with include Bernard Wright, John Ellis, Adam Rogers, Ari Hoenig, Lilâ€™ John Roberts, Jason Marsalis, Jon Hendricks, Nâ€™dambi, and Jeff Coffin. As an educator, Chris has had the opportunity to give clinics at high schools and colleges around the US, Canada, and the UK. He served as an adjunct instructor of saxophone at the University of Texas-Arlington from 2007 â€“ 2009. Chris attended East Carolina University, Michigan State University, and the University of North Texas. His major teachers include Dr. Jeff Bair, Jim Riggs, Joe Lulloff, and Diego Rivera.
