Patricia George has served on the faculties of the Eastman School of Music Preparatory Department, Idaho State University (Faculty Achievement Award 1995) and Brigham Young University-Idaho. She currently is the flute professor at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival and the American Band College. She is Editor of Flute Talk magazine and writes the monthly column “The Teacher’s Studio.” Ms. George is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music with the B.M. (with distinction), M.M. and Performer’s Certificate in Flute. With co-author Phyllis Avidan Louke she was written Flute 101: Mastering the Basics, Flute 102: Mastering the Basics and Flute 102: Solo Repertoire, Flute 103: Mastering the Basics and Flute 103: Solo Repertoire, and The Flute Scale Book, which are all published by Theodore Presser. She teaches her famous FLUTE SPA masterclasses throughout the US and Europe.
