ATTENTION AIRPLANE AND TRAIN TRAVELERS:
Conn-Selmer Institute will NOT provide transportation between the South Bend Regional Airport and Bethel College for our airplane and train travelers.
Don’t forget we are on Eastern time and Chicago is on Central time, so you will be losing and hour crossing into Indiana, but gaining an hour when you return to the airport
WEATHER:
Early June tends to bring warm, humid conditions to South Bend; however, you will be in air conditioning most of the day. Attire is business casual. Make sure that you bring pens and a notebook for notes, ideas and thoughts during CSI. You will find it extremely beneficial. Factory Tour Participants: Due to strict safety regulations, all those going through the factories must have shoes with closed toes. Sandals, including flip-flops, are not acceptable. They will restrict you from the tour. Also, because of the extended walking, you will want to wear comfortable shoes.
Dorm Residents: Bethel College will provide the following for all dorm residents:
• Sheets
• Pillow
• Pillow case
• "Spa towel" (Apparently, this is a small towel. Participants may want to pack a larger one.)
You will be able to check into your dorms after checking in on June 9th. The dorms will be open, so plan on taking your luggage and instruments to the dorm building once you have registered for the event.
Please be sure to bring an alarm clock, shower gear, and shower sandals. The dorms are air-conditioned, so if you have a tendency to feel cold, you may wish to bring an extra blanket.
IMPORTANT: You will be leaving CSI with a large amount of great material. If you are flying, be sure to save room in your suitcase for this new library of valuable information.

NOTES OF INTEREST FOR CONN-SELMER REGISTRANTS
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be served in the dining commons building (upstairs). All meals will be buffet style.
There is ample parking available on campus behind the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center and next to the dorms Manges and Tuckey Hall. A campus map is available online.
Factory Tour: Please be ready to leave at 6:45-7:00 a.m. from in front of the Dining Commons. Due to strict safety regulations, all those going through the factories must have shoes with closed toes. Sandals, including flip-flops, are not acceptable. They will restrict you from the tour. Also, because of the extended walking, you will want to wear comfortable shoes. If you have a pacemaker please notify your tour guide.
Look for the Shirt: Please look towards those in matching polo shirts to answer any questions you may have regarding CSI. They are happy to assist you in anyway.
Skull Sessions: This is the chance for participants to ask for advice from the nation’s top music education and industry professionals. After classes end for the day, participants can choose which clinician with whom they wish to speak. They then gather in small groups for informal discussions. Many “alums” have cited the skull sessions as their most valuable experience at the Conn-Selmer Institute. This is the perfect opportunity to “pick the brains” of the most respected experts and the music education and industry fields, not to mention becoming personally acquainted with these icons.
